The Algerian Embassy in New Delhi commemorated the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious liberation revolution with a special ceremony attended by a large number of ambassadors and heads of accredited diplomatic missions, as well as diplomats from various countries. The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Her Excellency Dr. Nina Malhotra, Secretary for South Asia.
The ceremony was also attended by a number of senior officials from the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, businessmen, college presidents, and university professors, giving the event a distinctive diplomatic and cultural character.
In his speech, the Algerian Ambassador to New Delhi, Mr. Abdelnour Khalifi, emphasized the strength of the historical ties between Algeria and India and the leading role played by both countries within the Non-Aligned Movement and the Group of 77, noting the solidarity and cooperation that characterize their relations. The ambassador also reiterated Algeria's unwavering commitment to supporting just causes around the world, the right of peoples to liberation, and the fight against all forms of colonialism.
