On the sidelines of his participation in the second day of the African Union Executive Council, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks today in Addis Ababa with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Development Cooperation of the sister Republic of Burundi, Mr. Edouard Bizimana.
During this meeting, Minister Ahmed Attaf congratulated his Burundian counterpart on his country's readiness to assume the rotating presidency of the African Union and assured him of Algeria's support for the Republic of Burundi in leading the continental organization's efforts to serve the causes of security, development, and integration on the continent.
The two ministers also discussed ways to strengthen relations between Algeria and Burundi, in the context of preparations for high-level bilateral events.
