Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of African Affairs, Mrs.Salma Bakhta Mansouri, chaired Thursday, via videoconference, the 11th session of the African Peer Review Mechanism's Focal Points Steering Committee, as part of Algeria's rotating presidency of the Mechanism's Heads of State and Government Forum.
In her remarks, the Secretary of State reaffirmed Algeria's commitment under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr.Abdelmadjid Tebboune, current Chair of the Mechanism's Forum, to supporting the reform of the Continental Mechanism's Secretariat as a crucial step toward enhancing its effectiveness and role in advancing good governance across Africa.
Mrs. Mansouri also emphasized the importance of addressing the practical needs of the country evaluation processes of member States to strengthen national leadership, which is the core principle of this continental mechanism, and ensuring the continental Secretariat reform aligns with the major objectives of the Mechanism and member states' aspirations.
